Synopsis

Lunch and learn session: Supporting Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in the Classroom with Anne Kresta from Manitoba Education Solutions.

Course Overview

Join special guest Anne Kresta on Friday, March 1 for a presentation on supporting students with autism spectrum disorder in the classroom.

Anne Kresta works with Education Solutions Manitoba and has been involved in many initiatives targeted at increasing community involvement of people of all ages living with intellectual disability and autism spectrum disorder, from inclusive child care, through elementary, middle and high school and  into post-secondary education and employment. During her tenure at Community Living Manitoba, Anne developed and produced the Parent’s Guide to Inclusive Education, the Planning Inclusive Cultures in Schools (PICS) Project, the Personal Guide to the Vulnerable Persons Act and numerous workshops ranging from advocacy, collaborative planning, individual education plans, transition to adulthood, to system navigation. Anne also spearheaded Level IT Up, a social enterprise promoting and supporting the mutual benefits of connecting skilled consultants with autism spectrum disorder to Manitoba’s tech sector/ICT businesses (https://levelitupmb.ca/).
