Synopsis

Pre-requisite: Your supervisor must have taken the Manager Version of this course before you enrol. Ask your supervisor if you are not sure. Manager sessions are offered regularly to complement the timing of employee session

Course Overview

Please note: When you enrol in this course, you will see that an approval step is required by Staff Learning and Development who will confirm that your manager has taken (or is enrolled to take) the Manager Version of this course. You will receive a confirmation e-mail as soon as your enrolment request has been approved.

The Working Mind is an education-based program designed to address and promote mental health and reduce the stigma of mental illness in a workplace setting. Developed by the Mental Health Commission of Canada, it provides training for employees and managers alike to support mental health conversations, self-awareness and increased resilience.

This half-day workshop aims to increase awareness of mental health, reduce the stigma of mental illnesses, and offer resources to maintain positive mental health and increase resiliency. All employees are encouraged to take this training.

This course will provide:

A focus on dispelling the myths of mental health problems and mental illnesses, aiming to reduce associated stigma
An overview of the Mental Health Continuum Model
Self-assessment of one’s own mental health along the continuum
Strategies one can apply at each point along the continuum
